Wike insists Ayu allegedly collected ₦1BN bribe

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has again indicted the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) Iyorcha Ayu of allegedly collected one-billion-naira as bribe. The Governor’s latest comments on the PDP crisis were in reaction to the denial of the Chairman who remains under pressure to step down.

Governor of aware from Rivers State for a few days. He had travelled with governors of Abia, Benue and Oyo state. The governor went for a trip after making fresh allegation against the PDP National Chairman Senator Iyorcha Ayu of financial misappropriation to the ton of one-billion-naira.

Governor wike has been at the forefront of course for Ayu to step aside for a southerner to replace him. The chairman has however denied involvement in the allegation leveled against him.

In his words ” I want to challenge Ayu whether in his conscience, that he did not collect one billion from Lagos”.

He collected 1bn from a presidential candidate and if he denies it, I will name who gave him the money.

“Ayu met one of the presidential candidates and told him he doesn’t think the governors were ready to sponsor the party’s convention and he was given N1 billion.

He also expressed disappointment in the decision taken by the PDP board of trustee on the matter. A man who has made a commitment can not keep to it now and you urge us as party members to say after the election he will fulfill it.

He said his fighting for the interest of the south.
