According to him, the creation of state police is a constitutional matter that will require the collective support of all stakeholders including the National Assembly and socioeconomic organizations.

Although many Nigerians, governors, and civil society organizations have repeatedly called for the establishment of the state police to tackle insecurity in the nation.

However, addressing leaders of the northern region earlier today in Kaduna under the umbrella of the Arewa Joint committee, the former Lagos State Governor, Bola Tinubu said the creation of state police to tackle insecurity can only be achieved through a Constitutional amendment.
