REP. UKPONG-UDO COMMENDED FOR MASSIVE IMPACT ON GRASSROOT

The member representing Ikono/Ini Federal Constituency, Obong Emmanuel Ukpong-udo, has been commended for creative leadership in the empowerment of the people of his constituency, as well as for encouraging
the integration of the grassroots into the mainstream of governance.

The chairman of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) in Ward 4, Mr Abatai Elijah, made this commendation during the Unit-to-Unit tour of the Constituency organized by MkpoikanaAbasi Campaign Council. Mr Elijah commended Rep. Ukpong-Udo for improving the lot of the people and disclosed that the people of the ward have put strategic and proactive measures in place to deliver all YPP candidates.

Speaking at the ceremony which saw the convergence of supporters and indigenes from Units 1, 2, 3, 4, 10 and 11 at the Primary School, Mbiabong Ukan and later, those from Units 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 at Primary School, Mbioku/Mbiabong, Rep. Ukpong-udo appreciated the party hierarchy, community leaders, women groups and youths for their steadfastness and remarkable commitment to building a strong support base for all YPP candidates.

The lawmaker expressed pleasure on the interest of the grassroots in performing their civil rights and duties, that is, exercising their franchise and encouraged them to be firm in their resolve for emancipation.

The Director-General of MkpoikanaAbasi campaign council, Barr Edet Inyangidim expressed goodwill to all YPP members for their support and massive turnout. He informed the gathering that Rep. Ukpong-Udo has drastically drawn a paradigm shift in his consultation process, which gives the grassroots due recognition and places them on a higher pedestal as the people with power.

Women groups expressed their acceptance and endorsement of all YPP candidates through the women Leader Mrs Alice Emmanuel Effiong, who intimated the Sensitization tour Committee that the women are eager to deliver massively and ensure victory for all YPP candidates come 2023.
