Group trains 60 youths on waste to wealth skills in Lagos

The residents of Ojodu in Lagos state have the skills of converting plastic waste into building blocks. It comes just as the rotary club of Gbagada trains more than 60 youths in a three-day waste-to-wealth program.

Many youths were eager to acquire the skills of turning waste into wealth. Items like used tiles and fabrics are recreated into furniture pieces.
The organizers say the initiatives are part of their contributions to give back to society and also encourage residents to see value in waste.

The difference between a poor man and a rich man is just their state of mind. Every poor man has an idea of how to make money but the effort to step out and make money that is always difficult.

We can remove them from the notion of the government must employ us. Other aspects of the training program include; the conversion of food wastes to cooking gas and plastic into building blocks.
