FIFA WC: Saudi Arabia Led Argentina 2-1

The Lionel Messi–led Argentina national team has suffered a humiliating defeat at the hands of Saudi Arabia.

Lionel Messi put Argentina ahead from the spot in the 10th minute and Lisandro Martinez thought he had scored the second 19 minutes later but was disallowed by the Video Assistant Referee (VAR).

The Saudis returned to the second half with a different mindset and Saleh Al–Shekri levelled the scoreline in the 49th minute. Dawsari secured the victory for the Arabians ahead in the 53rd minute.
