Edwin Clark endorses Peter Obi as Nigeria’s next president

Elder statesman and Niger Delta elder, Chief Edwin Clark, on Tuesday endorsed Peter Obi of Labour Party (LP) for election as Nigeria’s next president in the 2023 election.

Clark announced his preference for Obi among the 18 candidates that will be on the ballot for 2019 presidential election at a press conference in his Abuja residence on Tuesday.

The Elder statesman said he endorsed the candidature of Obi because of his promises on restructuring true federalism, power devolution and resource control if he is elected.

He added that Obi has also promised to clean-up of the Niger Delta polluted communities if elected.

Also, Clark said the South-east region should be allowed to produce a president in 2023 and Obi fits the bill.

He said the promises of Obi were in tune with the demands of Niger Delta as has already been presented to him by Pan-Niger Delta Forum, PANDEF.

“That the vision statement shared by Peter Obi at the occasion, as it relates to making Nigeria more productive, using the rich resource endowment in every part of the country; curbing waste and fighting corruption; and creating jobs for our teeming youths through innovative initiatives is very commendable.
