ATIKU Donates 50m Naira to Flood Victims in Bayelsa

The former vice president and the presidential candidate of the People Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar has donated fifty million nairas to those greatly affected by the flood in Bayelsa. Atiku Abubakar donated when he visited an IDP camp in the state.

Arriving in an entourage, the former vice president was led through the crowd with the Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri into the ox-bow lake in Yenegoa to meet with the displaced persons taking refuge in the camp. With the donation of 50m naira flood disaster relief fund, the PDP presidential flag bearer assures the IDPs of his support in the challenging period in the state.

”When I see too many of our people in this state of hopelessness, I nearly get emotional. So if I don’t talk to you for long, just understand that I feel what you feel. We have come to share with you everything that you feel today. We want to let you know that we will continue to be with you until this temporary situation is brought to an end.”

With a lot of relief materials from the state and other non-governmental organizations arriving at various IDP camps in Bayelsa, it is believed that people have been well taken care of from donations.
